Wedding Photo Booth Checklist: Space, Power, Timing and Design

A photo booth is one of the easiest things to add to a wedding — as long as a few details are sorted before the day. This checklist covers what your venue, planner and photo booth company need to know, based on the questions couples ask us most.

1. Book your date early

Popular wedding dates book up first. Once you have your venue and date, send us your details so we can confirm availability and hold your date.

2. Measure your space

Most photo booth setups need about 8 × 8 feet (2.5 × 2.5 m) of clear space, including the backdrop and room for guests to pose. We confirm the exact footprint for your booth and backdrop before the wedding, and we're happy to speak with your venue directly.

Tip: place the booth near the dance floor or bar — somewhere guests pass often, but not in a walkway.

3. Check power and Wi-Fi

  • Power: most booths need one standard electrical outlet.
  • Wi-Fi: helpful for instant sharing by text, email or QR code. If your venue has limited connectivity, we can work around it.

4. Plan setup timing

Setup takes about 60–90 minutes. Our team arrives early so the booth is ready before your guests arrive. Let your venue or planner know our arrival time so we can load in smoothly.

5. Indoor or outdoor?

Both work, depending on the booth and the weather. Outdoor setups need:

  • a covered, level area
  • access to power
  • protection from wind, rain and extreme temperatures

6. Design your photo print

Your photo template can include your names, wedding date, colours or a monogram. We design it with you before the wedding, and the Premium package includes unlimited revisions.

7. Match the booth to your décor

We coordinate backdrops, florals, signage and props with your theme so the booth looks like part of your wedding. See examples on our wedding photo booth page.

8. Decide how guests get their photos

  • Prints: a keepsake guests take home — two strips per session with Essential, unlimited with Signature and Premium.
  • Digital: instant sharing by text, email or QR code.
  • Your gallery: you receive every photo from the night in a digital gallery.

9. Choose the right package

If you want… Choose
A self-service drop-off booth for a rehearsal dinner or after-party The Social — $399
Two hours with an attendant and printed strips Essential — $549
Four hours, glam booth and unlimited prints Signature — $899
