Skip the Favours: Why Photo Strips Make the Best Wedding Keepsake

Thinking about wedding favours? Here's why printed photo booth strips make a better keepsake than candles or candy — and how to plan them for your Toronto or GTA wedding.

Three personalized wedding photo booth strips with the couple's names and date, laid on a wooden table with eucalyptus and rose petals

Every couple hits the same question somewhere in the planning: what are we giving our guests? Mini candles, macarons, seed packets, personalized mugs — they all look lovely on the table. But walk through any reception at the end of the night and you'll see plenty of them still sitting there.

Photo booth strips are different. They're the one favour guests make themselves, with the people they came with, on the night itself. And they actually go home.

Why traditional favours get left behind

Favours aren't a bad idea — they're a thank-you, and that matters. The problem is that most of them are generic. A guest picks up the same small gift as everyone else in the room, and it has nothing to do with them.

That's why so many end up forgotten on tables, in coat pockets or in a kitchen drawer a week later. The intention is good. The object just isn't personal.

Why photo strips work better

Every guest gets something that's actually about them

A photo strip captures a guest with their partner, their cousins or the friends they haven't seen since university — laughing, pulling faces, mid-dance-floor. No two strips from your wedding will look the same.

They carry your wedding with them

We design the print template around your day: your names, wedding date, colours or monogram. So every strip is a keepsake of the guest's night and a reminder of your wedding — not a mass-produced item that could have come from anyone's.

They get kept

Photo strips end up on fridges, tucked into mirror frames, pinned to office corkboards and slipped into wallets. People keep photos of themselves with people they love. That's a much better return on your favour budget.

They double as entertainment

A table favour does one job. A photo booth gives guests something to do between dinner and the first dance, gets people from different sides of the family into the same frame, and fills your gallery with candid moments your photographer may not catch.

Nothing to assemble, wrap or haul

No late nights tying ribbons. No boxes to drop off at the venue. No leftovers to bring home. The booth arrives, we set it up, and guests print their favours on the spot.

How to make photo strips your wedding favour

1. Choose a package with enough prints. If the strips are your favour, you'll want every guest to leave with one. Essential includes two 2x6 strips per session, while Signature and Premium include unlimited prints — so groups can print as many copies as they need.

2. Design a template that feels like a keepsake. Add your names and date, match your wedding colours, or use your monogram. A clean, simple design ages best.

3. Pick your format. Classic 2x6 strips are the traditional favour and easy to share between friends. 4x6 prints (available with Signature and Premium) are better for framing.

4. Set it up where guests will see it. Near the bar or dance floor works best. Add a small sign — "Take a photo, take a favour" — so guests know the strips are theirs to keep.

5. Keep a copy for yourselves. With our guest scrapbook add-on ($175), each group leaves a copy of their strip and a handwritten note in an album for you. It becomes a photo guestbook you'll actually look through again.

Ideas to make the strips feel even more special

  • Photo magnets ($200): prints as fridge magnets instead of strips — a favour that goes straight on display.
  • Black-and-white glam portraits: the Signature package includes our glam booth in colour or black and white, for a timeless, flattering look guests are happy to frame.
  • A flower wall backdrop ($350): turns every strip into something that looks styled and intentional.
  • An extra hour ($250): late-night receptions are when the booth gets busiest. More time means more favours.

Which package fits a favour-style booth?

For most couples using strips as their favour, Signature is the sweet spot: four hours, unlimited prints and the glam booth. Compare everything on our packages page, or see real examples in our gallery.

Frequently asked questions

Can photo booth strips replace wedding favours?

Yes. Many couples use printed photo strips as their favour because every guest gets a personalized keepsake from the night. Choose a package with unlimited prints so every group can take copies home.

How many photo strips will we need?

With Signature or Premium, prints are unlimited, so you don't need to estimate. With Essential, each session prints two strips — fine for couples or small groups.

Can the strips have our names and wedding date?

Yes. We design the print template with you before the wedding, including your names, date, colours or monogram.

Do we get copies of the photos too?

Yes. You receive a digital gallery of every photo taken during your wedding, and the guest scrapbook add-on gives you a printed album with notes from your guests.
